Banana Republic fashion show debuts new Spring/Summer Collection

The Spring 2010 collection fuses Banana Republic's utilitarian heritage with a sense of buoyant ease. This mood of understated ease is exemplified in the blues. The natural tints that grace denim, chambray and cotton span the color spectrum: hues are borrowed from faded azure skies, cornflower blue and Jasper Johns' deep, familiar indigo.

An integral part of the Banana Republic legacy, the iconic safari material resurfaces in new variations that are just as fluid and easy as the original: new color gradients-ranging from stone, wheat and putty-complement both cool neutrals and warm, sun-kissed shades.

"With our focus on American Sportswear, we embraced denim this season and fused it throughout our entire collection, reworking the fits, washes, and colors," notes Creative Director and EVP of Design, Simon Kneen.
